Positive COVID-19 Case at the Halifax Shipyard

We have been advised by the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) that a Shipyard employee working on the Land Level has tested positive for COVID-19. This employee was last at the Shipyard on October 8th, 2021.

NSHA has conducted their investigation and provided instructions to all employee(s) who may have risk of exposure. Union leadership and the Shipyard JOSHC Co-Chairs have been updated.

As we’ve seen previously, this situation is a clear reminder of the importance of wearing a non-medical mask, social distancing and the need to get vaccinated.

Please continue to follow NSHA directions regarding COVID-19.

Keep safe and stay well
