Halifax Shipyard Open House

in Updates

On July 15th, Irving Shipbuilding welcomed over 4,000 guests to Halifax Shipyard to celebrate shipbuilding in Nova Scotia.

On July 15th, 2017, Halifax Shipyard opened its doors to the community to celebrate the first two of three major sections of the first Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS), the future HMCS Harry DeWolf, being moved outside.

More than 4,000 employees, friends, family members, and neighbours joined us for this significant AOPS milestone and to catch an inside glimpse of the work we are doing to build Canada’s future naval fleet.

Among the dignitaries who attended our celebration we were particularly honoured to host the Honourable Scott Brison, President of the Treasury Board; Vice-Admiral Ron Lloyd, Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy; and UNIFOR National President, Jerry Dias. Jerry gave a passionate speech about the importance of the work you are doing for Canada and we appreciate his support.
